DJ Tocom Rubber Settles Higher; May Extend Gain, Focus on China -- Market Talk
Tocom rubber futures settle 0.7% higher in a day of slow trade ahead of the conclusion of the U.S. Federal Reserve's policy meeting. A Singapore-based analyst at a speculative fund says there may be further upside to rubber in the next few months after sharp declines recently, as authorities in China may introduce policies to boost economic growth in China after recent concerns sent the broader markets plummeting. Benchmark August rubber settles Y1.6 higher at Y235.2/kg, off the intraday high of Y238.0/kg. (huileng.tan@dowjones.com)
