DJ Tocom Rubber Settles Lower; Stockpiles Weigh -- Market Talk
Tocom rubber settles slightly lower as investors mull high stockpiles. Large and rising global rubber stocks (http://www.pafutures.com/cmsdisplay1.php?news_id=16511#), however, may continue to be the key negative factor weighing on prices, London-based consultancy The Rubber Economist says in its latest report for the first quarter of the year. It is forecasting a surplus of 652,000 tons in 2014, as recent Thai government rubber policies supporting prices have encouraged production. Benchmark August Tocom rubber settles Y0.5 lower at Y234.7/kg, off the intraday low of Y234.5/kg. (huileng.tan@dowjones.com)
