DJ Tocom Rubber Settles Flat; No Apparent Impact From Thai Coup -- Market Talk
Tocom-rubber futures settle flat in a day of slow trade as concerns of an annual-supply surplus outweigh any upside from a potential supply disruption from large producer Thailand. Thailand's military takes control of the country in a coup d'etat Thursday but participants in Thailand say there's no immediate impact on trade. Output is generally slow due to the low-production season, they say. Benchmark October rubber settles Y0.2 lower at Y204.3/kg after moving in a Y203.3-Y206.4/kg range.
