DJ Tocom Rubber Settles Higher as Crude-oil Supports -- Market Talk
Tocom rubber futures settle 1.8% higher in slow trade as investors are cautious in a fourth straight day of gains following a 30% decline in prices this year. Firm crude-oil prices, however, are supportive. Tocom may see some profit-taking in the night session ahead of the weekend although the downside may be limited as supply is recovering slower than usual this year ahead of the peak season in July owing to limited tapping by farmers in a depressed market, traders say. Benchmark November rubber settles Y3.8 higher at Y212.7/kg after moving in the Y208.1-Y213/kg range. (huileng.tan@wsj.com; Twitter: @huileng_tan)
