DJ Tocom Rubber Settles Lower as Yen, Thai Sale Weigh -- Market Talk
Tocom rubber futures settle lower due to a stronger yen, as well as news that the Thai junta is selling the country's massive rubber stocks--which will likely depress the market in the near-term until the supply-demand outlook improves, say traders. The previous benchmark January rubber settles Y5.1 lower at Y197.7/kg. The new benchmark February contract settled Y3.2 lower at Y199.6/kg, after opening at Y204.9/kg.
