DJ Tocom Rubber Settles Slightly Higher; Focus on Nikkei, USD/JPY -Analyst
Tocom rubber futures settle slightly higher, as gains are limited due to the weak Nikkei and USD/JPY, says Kaname Gokon, deputy manager of research at Tokyo-based brokerage Okato Shoji. He adds fundamentals are supportive, with rubber supply tight in the ongoing low-production season, but investors are taking their time to set up new longs as they focus on the Nikkei and currency movements. He tips resistance at Y240/kg. Benchmark July rubber settles Y0.2 higher at Y234.1/kg, off the intraday high of Y236.4/kg. (huileng.tan@dowjones.com)
